Legal students at USP College were given the opportunity to interview for Linklaters Law Firm.

The interviews were conducted by alumni Hannah Webb, who also studied Legal Studies at the Seevic Campus, Benfleet.

Students were asked to prepare CVs and attend interviews with Hannah and her colleague Emma Judd, Divisional Secretarial Service Manager.

Linklaters, a Law Firm based in London, attended the College to interview potential candidates for their vacancy. The firm, who also interviewed external candidates for the role, allowed all Legal students to interview before shortlisting the candidates down to a final four for a second interview.

It was great to get to the second round of interviews. I would like to secure the role, so now will be patiently waiting for a response.

I had some good experiences that I was able to talk about as a result of my work experience at a local law firm in Southend. I also had to attend an interview to secure my work experience so that helped me know what to expect in an interview and helped me prepare better for my actual interview.

My Work Experience placement also helped me with my CV so that it would help me secure roles in the future. It was great to complete work experience in a Law Firm so that I actually understood the role and gave me an insight into my future career.

We had a great day at USP College where we gained valuable knowledge of the college culture and environment. Many thanks to the tutors and students for making us feel so welcome.

Meeting with potential employers can provide students with an insight into the working environment of firms such as Linklaters. We hope this experience has also highlighted to students the importance of networking skills and making connections that could potentially lead to future job opportunities.

Overall, meeting with employers can greatly enhance a student's understanding of the industry and help them make more informed decisions about their career goals.

Emma Judd, Linklaters Divisional Secretarial Service Manager
