Unlocking Skills

Nominated teachers embarked on a day of transformative training, to support the integration of Virtual Environment (VE) led learning within Health utilising the experiences of Metaverse Learning.
USP College staff were the first to pilot this brand new training package that was created and delivered by the XTEND Digital Team.
All participants fully immersed themselves into the programme, starting with mastering the fundamentals and getting acquainted with our brand-new ULTRA learning space. Next up, staff explored and discovered strategies for effectively using extended reality in the classroom. They looked at how to integrate these into the curriculum design to provide effective delivery for students. Of course, staff also had the opportunity to use some of the applications that already exist to understand for themselves how effective immersive learning can be.
These new digital technologies support the implementation of our new healthcare simulation centre and T-Level delivery. The equipment available to our students, combined with the virtual environment experiences will ensure learners leave us not only with the theoretical knowledge but also the technical skills needed to succeed. It is an incredibly exciting time for our Healthcare department, and the XTEND Digital Team as they collaborate to integrate these new learning methods into curriculum.
This programme follows the success of the iTransform Development Programme which has effectively supported both internal and external immersive practitioners in becoming fully fluent in the use of the spaces. iTransformXR aims to bolster the growth of immersive teaching and learning, focusing on the new ULTRA spaces and their technology to facilitate effective consumption of Virtual Environments (VR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, fostering seamless connectivity across colleges, campuses and the immersive network.
