USP College saw over 2,000 A-Level and Level 3 career-focused qualifications achieved across the College’s two campuses!
A-Level and Level 3 Results Day is a fantastic way to celebrate the achievements of students who are taking the next steps in their career journey. The qualifications and skills provided to students at the College, targeted around their chosen sector area or career pathway have been just the first step in that journey, and today was a celebration of those efforts to get them to the next stage.
This year the College saw a record breaking number of A-Level qualifications achieved along with a 13% increase in students receiving an A-Level A*-B Grade.
A-Level Economics was introduced to the College’s curriculum this year and gained 100% pass rate. The delivery method for this course was through the College’s immersive classrooms or remote learning. The immersive classrooms allow the College to give students access to the best possible teachers, regardless of their geographic location. Within the room teachers are supported by Digital Learning Technologists who advise and support with the technology to make the sessions interactive and make use of the five smart boards that connect all locations.
Dan Pearson, CEO said: “It is fantastic to see our immersive classrooms having a positive impact on results, like our Economics class. The variety of teaching and learning that we are able to embed to all students’ programmes by utilising technology is evidently supporting with retention of information whilst delivering new skills and up-skilling teachers.
“We are proud not only to have immersive classrooms, but also state-of-the-art facilities that give our students access to the best technology and equipment, such as our Hospital Simulation Room and facilities at our XTEND Digital Campus, including our Motion Capture Studio. This September we will also have a brand-new Engineering Lab and Theatre, that will be equipped with a fully immersive backdrop.”
And the results continue to come in where the College saw a 100% pass rate on 23 individual level 3 vocational qualifications.
The College has seen some students progress to incredible destinations.
Katie South, collected her results this morning with her mum Tina Edwards who said: “I am incredibly proud of Katie’s achievements”. Katie started at the College three years ago, with the Level 2 BTEC in IT, before progressing on to the Level 3 programme. In order to secure her Apprenticeship Katie took part in a 3-week assessment which included group work, presentations and individual assessments. After this, Katie was invited to an interview before being offered a place on the Apprenticeship scheme.
