Our Learning Plus team aim to provide each student with the individual support they need in order to reach their full potential whilst at college.
All students who wish to discuss their needs, before or after joining us, are welcome to call into Learning Plus at any time (no need to book an appointment). We are also able to offer confidential interviews so that we can assess each student to ensure the correct support is provided.

USP College offer Qualified Teachers of Children and Young People with Vision Impairment (QTVI) who offer a wide range of support to help visually impaired students thrive in the college environment. Support may consist of:
Curriculum Access: Establishing strategies to enable students to access the college curriculum and to learn independently.
Teacher Guidance: Equipping teaching staff with skills in how best to support the learning needs of visually impaired students.
Specialist Skills: Teaching of essential skills such as using assistive technology, independent living skills, and learning braille.
Mobility and Independence: Liaising with mobility and rehabilitation specialists to develop students’ mobility and independence skills.
Accessible Materials: Ensuring learning materials are accessible by modifying them into suitable formats like large print, electronic, braille, or audio.
Exam Arrangements: Advising on specific arrangements for exams or assessments to accommodate the needs of visually impaired students.
