Level 3 VFX & Virtual Production

This is a 2-year course for students interested in developing creative skills required to work within the media industry, with a particular focus on the world of Visual effects, Virtual production and Virtual reality. Students will work on several coursework projects throughout the course, using various software’s to develop and improve on specific techniques used for visual effects and virtual production in the industry today. Students will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learned throughout the course in their Final Major Project, during which they will have the freedom to work on a brief and project of their choosing.

What will I study?

This course gives students the experience needed to move on to studying a Media or Film based degree at Higher Education. If students are not interested in going to university, this course gives students the experience of working towards briefs and using industry-standard software that can help them towards Apprenticeships in the area or even freelance work.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language or Maths

or

A Level 2 BTEC Diploma or above in a relevant creative subject and GCSE English Language or Maths at grade 4 or above

  • Students may need to purchase an external hard drive for project storage.
  • A graphics tablet is recommended but not essential as some will be provided.

What could I do next?

Students completing this UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in will have the skills and understanding needed to progress to employment/self-employment or Higher Education. The qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work, enabling you to progress to higher education or Level 4 courses.
