The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care provides an entry into many health or social care occupations and related degree courses.

It will help you develop your knowledge, skills and practical experience to prepare for an exciting, challenging and rewarding career and higher education in health or social care.

This programme promotes a wide range of academic and vocational skills that employers and universities are looking for.

Entry requirements

  • Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including GCSE English Language or Maths.

or

  • A Level 2 BTEC Diploma at grade Merit or above and GCSE English Language or Maths at grade 4 or above.

Please note that some health-related degree courses also require grade C/4 or above in GCSEs Maths and/or Science.

What could I do next?

You can continue your studies by entering Higher Education in specific career related programmes like Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic Science, Social Work or Occupational Therapy.

Alternatively, you could choose to study related degree courses in subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, Health Studies or Public Health.

You could also progress directly to employment in one of the many Health & Social Care support job roles, such as: Care Worker, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Maternity Support Worker, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Social Care Assistant or Phlebotomist.
