Level 2 Fashion Business & Retail Diploma will offer an introductory experience into the fashion, business, and retail sector, developing skills and knowledge necessary for future progression and employment. Learners will look at the functions of the fashion industry from production to presentation. Completion of this course gives learners the natural progression to the Level 3 Fashion, Business and Retail Level 3 Diploma at USP.
The course is 100% coursework. Although the course is made up of several units, we will collaborate some modules together to implement project-based learning - with a particular focus on industry enrichment.
Unit 1: Introduction to fashion retail will provide an awareness of the variety of roles within the sector and of the personal and professional characteristics needed for a career in fashion business and retail.
Unit 2: Introduction to contextual research for fashion retail will provide an awareness of the value of contextual research in informing knowledge, ideas and understanding. Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail
Unit 3: Introduction to communication skills for fashion retail introduces the specific skills, attributes and methods required for effectively communicating ideas in Fashion Business and Retail.
Unit 4: Exploring production and operations for fashion will enable students to integrate and apply the learning from the previous units and introduce the specific skills and attributes required for fashion production.
Unit 5: Exploring buying and selling for fashion will enable students to integrate and apply the learning from the previous units and introduce the specific skills and attributes required for buying and merchandising.
Unit 6: Exploring business and marketing for fashion will enable students to integrate and apply the learning from the previous units and introduce the specific skills and attributes required for business and marketing.
Unit 7: Exploring visual merchandising for fashion will enable students to integrate and apply the learning from the previous units and introduce the specific skills and attributes required for visual merchandising.
Unit 8: Personal project and presentation provides an opportunity for the learner to demonstrate their ability to competently use the range of skills, knowledge and understanding acquired throughout the course.
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language and Maths. At least one GCSE needs to be at grade 4 or above.
Trips and normal stationery items.
