Course Overview

Level 1 Vocational Studies is designed as an introduction to college and will focus on the personal, social and employability skills you will need to progress to further study in a specific sector at Level 2 i.e. Health and Social Care, Business, Sport, Early Years, Media or to an employment course such as STEP or Apprenticeship.

You will take part in Trips to places like Colchester Zoo and Local attractions and guest lectures from different Career sectors such as Recruitment, Social Work, Sport, Apprenticeships.

You may have the opportunity to take part in a NCS programme which is a 2 week programme where students come together to take part in fantastic activities to build confidence, learn new skills and be involved in a local community project. As part of NCS you will go on a residential and take part in abseiling, rafting, hiking, rock climbing and more.

What could I do next?

Many of our students progress on to a Level 2 course such as the BTEC Certificate, alternatively, you can progress to work-based training such as an apprenticeship or STEP.
