A-Level Film Studies will enable you to deepen your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film; the main cultural innovation and major art form of the 20th century.
The interaction between spectator and film is central to this course.
There is a strong emphasis on investigating how film works both as a powerful medium of representation and as an aesthetic medium.
You will study a diverse range of film and explore the significance of film and film practice in national, global and historic contexts.
During the two-year course you will also have the opportunity to create your own short film.

Component 2 - Global Filmmaking Perspectives
Component 3 – Production
The course is 70% exam 30% coursework.
Trips and visits to exhibitions and galleries are a must to appreciate the historical development and contemporary trends within the film and media industry.
