Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Principal - Student Experience to join our team. As the Chief Ambassador for our students, you will lead a passionate team committed to enhancing the well-being and success of our students throughout their college journey. You will be responsible for the strategic leadership of key areas, including Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Support, Enrichment & Learner Voice, Tutorials, Careers & Work Experience, Learning Resource Centre, Front of House, and Security. You will play a pivotal role in advancing the ambitions of our College Student Union, fostering a culture of passion and enthusiasm for student experience across the entire institution.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement coherent and effective cross-College support for the Teaching and Learning Strategy and associated policies and procedures.
  • Provide strong and collegial leadership of your team, supporting and nurturing them through proactive professional and personal development.
  • Contribute to the College’s strategic and operational planning and performance reporting regime, including effective leadership of planning and performance.
  • Develop and enhance productive relationships with key partners.
  • Ensure that all Student Support Services are promoted to existing and potential students in College and at events and in publicity for potential students.
  • Review, develop and implement effective frameworks, systems and policies that ensures a holistic, inclusive and accessible provision of student support for all students to enable their success.
  • Deliver an effective Personal Development Strategy.
  • Work with Curriculum Directors to ensure that students are placed on courses appropriate to their needs, qualifications, aspirations and receive support appropriate to their needs.
  • Ensure that the College admission, guidance and advice functions assist applicants to access appropriate learning.

 

 


Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience managing a similar service.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and identify areas for improvement, with a track record of planning for excellence.
  • Experience in community learning.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, target setting, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in effective learner support methodologies.

  • Teaching qualification
  • Postgraduate certificate
  • Relevant management qualification.
  • Experience in community education.
  • Experience managing change within an educational setting
