We are committed to ensuring that students in the local area have the relevant information and guidance available so they are able to make an educated post-16 decision.

At USP College we offer A-Levels, T-Levels, Vocational Courses, Foundation Learning, Higher Education and Adult Education. We have a passion for ensuring young people are choosing the right pathway for them. Our hope is that by visiting local schools and sixth forms we can provide helpful advice and guidance, so students make the right choice for them.

Assemblies

If you would like us to visit your school to provide an assembly, we are more than happy to offer this. At the end of each assembly, we will offer students the chance to ask any questions they may have. We can provide a range of assemblies:

General Assembly

This assembly will consist of general information about USP College, what it is like to be a student with us, information about each of our subject offers including T-Levels, A-Levels, and Vocational courses and what careers they can lead to.

T-Level Spotlight Assembly

In this Assembly, we will talk in-depth about how T-Levels work. We will include information about the industry placement element of the course, how students are graded, what it is like to study a T-Level, and the options we have available.

A-Level Spotlight Assembly

This assembly will include information about A-Levels. We will talk about how many A-Levels students have to choose, the entry requirements, how they are assessed and graded and what A-levels we have on offer at USP College. We will also discuss the careers that can come from studying A-Levels.

Vocational Spotlight Assembly

This assembly will include information on our vocational courses. We will speak about the entry requirements of vocational courses, how assessed and graded, the work experience element of the courses and what vocational courses we have on offer.

Other Schools Liaison Events

As well as our range of assemblies we offer many other ways to get involved with USP.

Year 10 Taster Days

We have multiple dates available for our Year 10 Taster Days towards the end of June and the beginning of July. If you bring more than 100 students to the taster day the whole day will be dedicated to your school.

Before your students arrive we ask them to choose which career pathway they would like to experience. Each pathway includes 3 different subject lessons and a theatre talk where we will talk to students about student life and answer any questions they may have! Prior to the event, we will send you the options your students have to choose from and ask you to ensure they have made their choice before attending so the day can run as smoothly as possible.

Classroom Sessions

Classroom sessions are a small-scale version of our assembly offer. These sessions give us chance to speak to students in a quieter environment where they may feel more comfortable asking questions and interacting more with the session. Similarly, to our assemblies these sessions can focus on any of our subject offers, T-Levels, A-Levels, Vocational Courses or Higher Education. Or, they can be a general overview of USP College and what we have to offer them Post-16 and Post-18.

Sixth Form Sessions

We offer flexible programs and would be happy to speak with your Sixth Formers, especially those studying:

  • Early Years
  • Childcare
  • Creative Media
  • Sport & Exercise Science

Year 11 Q&A sessions

We offer drop-in Q&A Sessions for your year 11 students during class time or lunchtime. Students can ask us any questions they have related to college such as how to apply or how entry requirements work. We can also offer this session virtually using Teams or our new virtual campus where students can explore our XTEND Digital Campus and utilise the chat function on the website to ask their questions!

Year 11 Parent Evenings

We are happy to attend your Parents’ Evenings to provide information, advice, and guidance on what students’ post-16 options are. We can discuss any predicted grades with parents and what grades students would need to be accepted onto the courses they are looking at studying when they leave school.

Mock Interviews

Our staff can attend Mock Interview days that you are holding. By taking part in a mock interview, we hope this will give students experience to take with them when they have an interview for a job, College / Sixth Form, or University.

Careers Fairs

If you are holding a careers fair during the day or the evening, we are more than happy to come along. We can provide guidance to students who aren’t sure what their next steps are, what they may need to study to get the career they are aiming for, and information about life at College.

Discovery Days at XTEND Digital Campus

Our Discovery Days take place at our state-of-the-art XTEND Digital Campus on Canvey Island. During the day your students will have the chance to explore our high-tech facilities and take part in fun digital activities! Typically these sessions take place within 1 hour.
